The PS4 does it. I think the XBone does it. Your phone probably does it too. So why not your car?

In an effort to further integrate social media with cars (in order to attract those damn millenials), why not include a "Share" button? An integrated dash cam with telemetric display would record your drive in user-definable amounts (say anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes). When you hit the "Share" button, it automatically uploads the content to your favorite video provider in order to shame the asshat that just cut you off, provide proof in an accident, or show off your awesome AutoX skills

It could come with 6 months of GSM service from your provider of choice, like the free 6 months of satellite radio some companies offer. 2 GB would probably be overkill for 85% of users. Storage would be limited - say, 5 minutes worth - to keep prices low and prying eyes out of your entire drive. Data connection would only go live during the upload sequence, to quell worries about lol gov't spies

But how do we know if the/a government isn't monitoring that integrated dashcam? For this purpose I'd much rather have an external device which I know I can turn off properly.

We would probably know if the government is monitoring the dash cam just about like we know if the government is monitoring the embedded GPS/Nav systems currently installed in cars

The government monitors everything.

I've learned to accept it and move on. Who cares anymore, it sucks but it is what it is.

Well, while I can accept it in some cases, I won't let them be able to watch my driving at all times.

GSM enabled, comes with 6 month 2gb plan from your favorite provider?

In theory, they wouldn't be able to watch all the time. Only during an upload sequence, which you're uploading anyway so people can see it regardless of their occupation. The data connection won't be live all the time, just when you hit the "Share" button

5 minutes would probably be the max storage allocated, to keep things inexpensive and prying eyes from your entire drive

Sorry, I meant coverage. at least in my area, LTE coverage is spotty, and videos tend to be crappy if they're streamed from 3G or or 4G.
